I'll be honest. I almost didn't write this.
For two years I chased good skin the way everyone tells you to. Retinol at night. Vitamin C in the morning. A hyaluronic acid serum stacked under a barrier cream stacked under an SPF I reapplied religiously. My bathroom counter looked like a pharmacy.
And my skin still looked tired.
Not broken out. Not irritated, most of the time. Just dull. Flat. The kind of tired that makes people ask if you're feeling okay when you're actually fine. I'd started reaching for blush every single morning, not for color, just so I didn't look ‘ill’ the second I skipped it. I was also going through foundation faster than I used to, using more of it to get the coverage I used to get with less. I'd compare old photos to new ones and the difference wasn't dramatic, it was just a slow fade I couldn't explain.
I did everything the skincare aisle told me to do. So why wasn't it working?
